Thai cuisine is easily in my top five favorite foods. I've been to many Thai restaurants around Brisbane and Siam Samrarn is definitely my favorite. My family and I came here for mum's birthday and needless to say, my mother was extremely happy with the choice!
We sat down in side in one of the booths (facing the big screen showing game 3 of Origin no less) and looked through the extensive menu. Each of us ordered a dish to share: chicken satay (marinated chicken in special sauce then grilled with coconut milk with a side of home made peanut sauce), bug salt and pepper (lightly battered Moreton Bay Bugs cooked with onion, chili and capsicum seasoned with traditional salt and pepper), gang keaw wharn (thai green curry with coconut milk, green beans and bamboo shoot), chicken pad thai and garlic fish (crispy deep fried whole barramundi topped fried crispy garlic).
All the dishes were cooked well and followed traditional cooking styles and tastes of the far east. After having did a Thai cooking class in Chiang Mai, I can honestly say that this was almost a perfect emulation to the culinary adventures we had in Thailand.
Siam Samrarn is easily one of my favourites in Brisbane - overwhelming choice, affordable pricing and great ambiance. This restaurant it perfect for any occasion!
