RUBY CAFE | Gibbons Terrace, Paddington

This post is about 6 months late. My sister and I went to Ruby Cafe one sunny summer's morning to try out this cute little cafe. Paddington always amazes me with it's offers of cafes and cute little vintage shops. We went on weekday morning and it was strangely quite along Gibbons Terrace. We found parking easily (thank goodness!). Ruby Cafe is a cute little cafe that is provides a country feel to your meal with its timber roof, sitting by the window overlooking Paddington and their flowers in glass bottles. The menu was simple but all-encompassing with all the essential menu items needed for a great brunch.

My sister ordered Bubble & Squeak hash cakes with wilted spinach leaves and poached eggs in hollandaise sauce and I ordered a potato bravas with chorizo and fried eggs. The dishes came out quickly and it didn't disappoint. It was as cute as it sounded. I love how our dishes were presented - simple but inviting. The type of food here can be found at Gunshop Cafe - a big hearty meal that is unassuming. If you are looking for a light breakfast, this is not the place to go. Both my sister and I could not finish our meals despite it being delicious (imagined if we ordered drinks as well). For a lighter and less-oil type breakfast, I would recommend Comfort at My Table or Ponycat

Recommended for: a big hearty breakfast that will fill you up till dinner!
