After being swamped with work over the past couple of weeks, I finally took time on a Saturday off to start eating my through various brunch spots around Brisbane. Inspired by The 2014 A List on The Urban List, DC and I caught up over lunch at this new place at Spring Hill.
Some people say that you should never pay extra for ambiance but I protest to that. I think the taste of food is parallel to the ambiance of the restaurant. Even if the restaurant is serving up a might dish but the decor is mediocre, I would not really go back again. Jak + Hill certainly did not disappoint!
I love the wallpaper that was tattooed with photographs and I love the personal touch of flowers that are on each table. The menus are printed on cardboard with the specials written on a chalkboard wall near the kitchen. DC and I both ordered burgers. I ordered a 100% Angus Beef Burger with Chunky Chips and a Parker's Organic Lemon Lime Bitter. Daniel ordered a Jak's Chicken Burger with cappuccino. We both loved the chunky chips with was seasoned adequately and super crispy. Both burgers were served delicately on a chopping board. My Angus burger was perfect with just the right amount of chew and juice.
Total money spent = $23 for lunch and drink
I am definitely coming back to try the breakfast menu!
