HARAJUKU GYOZA | Boundary St, Fortitude Valley

Sister's night out! :) Huldah and I went out for dumplings one Friday because the parents were overseas and we didn't want to cook. We came here mainly because the signage was so damn cute (although i did not realise that the face was a shape of a dumpling - silly!). The atmosphere at Harajuku is loud and boisterous with a predilection for the unruly- everytime someone orders a sake, the bartenders and waitresses shout in support of the shot. This is definitely not the place for a romantic date nor a mega catchup sesh with people who you haven't seen for a long time - you can hardly hear the other person over all the other noises. There isn't adequate seating especially for the weekend evenings and we had to wait for at least 45mins+ before we got a seating at the bar.

The menu is very minimal to say the least with only about 6 types of gyzoa to choose from either fried or steamed. I also ordered tofu and miso soup on the side. For dessert, we ordered the special banana nutella and vanilla ice-cream gyoza.

Although I wouldn't necessarily come back here in a hurry without trying out all the rest of the gyoza joints around Brisbane, this place certainly doesn't disappoint!
